Digital Memories by Wayne is owned and operated by CWO (USA retired) Wayne Steppy and his wife Jan. Wayne spent 20 years in the Army starting out in the enlisted ranks before becoming a helicopter pilot and maintenance officer. Since that time, Wayne has worked in a variety of industries including finance, supporting and building desktops, and camera retail stores. Photography has been Wayne’s hobby since he was a child. He was bitten by the photography bug when his dad served as the staff photographer for the U.S. Embassy in Guatemala. Wayne has traveled the world and US all his life as an Air Force brat and career Army warrant officer. He is a true lover of people, kids, and nature.
Currently, Wayne is pursuing the photography business full time. In addition, he has several volunteer assignments, one with the Corp of Engineers in the greater Lewisville area. Wayne assists in documenting the various species of animals and birds through photography as well as participating in projects to conserve the wildlife habitat. He is also the “official” photographer for church activities, and he particularly loves working with children.
Jan Steppy traveled with Wayne throughout his military career before developing her own career as a mainframe systems programmer. Jan loves digital photography because it combines the best of all the things she loves, the outdoors, wildlife, hiking, and software. Jan enjoys teaching Sunday School at Flower Mound United Methodist Church.
We use a Nikon D100 and a Nikon D70 with a variety of Nikkor lenses and Sigma EX lenses. We recently acquired a Nikkor 400mm f2.8 lens that we are eager to try.
